Committees

The bulk of our organization’s activities occur within the structure of various committees that you can get involved with! Below are the various committees that are either currently meeting or have completed their projects:

Current:

Executive Committee:

Chair: Noah Tang

Meetings: Monthly, check calendar

The purpose of the Executive Committee is to make sure the whole organization runs smoothly: coordinating campaigns, doing social media, and being the public face of Strong Towns Blono. Only members who are elected to the Executive Committee can vote at meetings, but they are open to all members.

Fundraising Committee:

Chair: Gretchen Knapp

Meetings: At least once a quarter, check calendar

The purpose of the Fundraising Committee is to ensure that our 501(c)3 has enough operating funds to complete our projects! From volunteering at the Arena, to asking donors for sponsorships, we are open to any and all ideas to continue our mission! All meetings are open to all members.

Education Committee:

Co-chairs: Zach Carlson & Alan Lessoff

Meetings: At least once a quarter, check calendar

The Education Committee is tasked with disseminating information that furthers our mission goals at Strong Towns Blono. Meetings of the Education Committee are to plan: educational forums, speaking events, podcasts, among others. Meetings are open to all members.

Neighborhood Liaison Committee:

Chair: Katherine McCarthy

Meetings: At least once a quarter, check calendar

The Neighborhood Liaison Committee is tasked with establishing contact points and relationships with existing neighborhood organizations; holding all of the contact information and the dates and times of local neighborhood groups; working with interested parties in establishing new neighborhood organizations in the Strong Towns framework; ensuring existing and new neighborhood groups are inclusive to all members of the community; and focusing on neighborhood beautification, rebuilding social ties, neighborhood history and identity.

The Committee has published a Neighborhood Association Organizer’s Toolkit, which can be accessed here. Meetings are open to all members.
