Thinking Outside the Box Housing Forum

Please join us for a housing forum this Sunday, August 25th from 2-4 pm at Bloomington Public Library.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: we have a housing “Poly-Crisis” on our hands.

There are so many problems leading into so many facets of housing: overall supply, affordability, and the unhoused.

Many of these issues are related. However, our Thinking Outside the Box Housing Forum will primarily focus on Strong Towns responses to our supply crunch: easing zoning, removing parking minimums, and creating an environment of small developers. Bloomington-Normal Community Land Trust will present on how to create and maintain permanent affordable housing, and McLean County Cohousing will tackle how changing how we design neighborhoods can help with modern societal issues such as loneliness and aging in place.
